Standing Up for Our Kids with Louder Morality Voices

With Obama?s race to re-election hanging in the balance due to Romney?s following sweeping the conservative mindset, the President?s stand in favor of gay marriage after almost four years of practically ignoring the subject has begun a wildfire that many politically savvy sources could have seen coming. Although many political figures have criticized Obama?s recent stand as detrimental to his campaign hopes, the reality of the matter is that the President has most likely not lost any votes with his declaration. Those who are most vehemently opposed to equality were not likely to vote for Obama in the first place. You can find a coverage on Directv about how Conservative right-wing constituents cling to a much more traditional approach to marriage, and claim it as a religious institution that should be in keeping with their religious beliefs. They would be loath to vote for this Democratic president in a second bid for the white house, and didn?t elect him the first time around. More liberally minded individuals see Obama?s stand as a much needed bid to garner the votes of those who may have been undecided. Disenchanted with Obama?s lack of action on behalf of gay rights aside from the repeal of Don?t Ask Don?t Tell despite his earlier campaign platform on equality (albeit on a separate but equal tilt) many democrats found themselves looking towards other possible options. Being the first sitting US President in history to come out in favor of equality for all in the gay rights movement sets a historic precedent, and opens the door to further steps towards a more progressive and tolerant state. Far from losing votes, Obama may have gained the support of those on the fence and reached a more favorable possibility to securing re-election.

God and Self Esteem: The Reflection Connection

The Beauty of New Atheism
Life without the belief of god is refreshing, exciting, enlightening, freeing and satisfying. In this sense, you pay a hundred percent care to this life and the inhabitants on the planet. You are more compassionate and loving to those around you because you know this is the only life there is to live.

Dropping Like Flies – DISH Network Losing Channels

As a customer who gets his television from DIRECTV, this really doesn’t impact me a whole lot, but for a lot of other people out there it certainly does. Any Dish customers out there hoping to catch the final season of Breaking Bad or get caught up on the continuing adventures of everyone’s favorite survivors from Walking Dead will have to look elsewhere. AMC, like many other television channels before it, has been dropped from the line-up.

Not the first or, probably, last high-profile network to be dropped from the provider – Dish has seemingly begun a long and dangerous trend of systematically trimming down the major network choices and supplementing their own blocks of programming. There has been much speculation about the reason for this suicidal maneuver, but most signs point to a combination of budgetary concerns and the continuing pressure with its rival – DIRECTV.

Since it doesn’t look like any of those major channels everyone knows and loves will be coming back any time soon, Dish customers have a choice to make. Stay with their current provider or go where the entertainment goes. For what you pay every month, it probably doesn’t seem like much of a choice at all.

Gimme Some Sugar – The Sugar Substitute Scene

Many people have a sweet tooth, but these people also want to avoid eating too much sugar. Sugar may taste great, but it provides absolutely no nutritional value to a diet. In fact, it does quite the opposite. Consuming too much sugar can lead to cavities, blood sugar issues, weight gain and various diseases. These negative side effects have left people looking for tasty alternatives to sugar. There are many different sugar substitutes on the market, and some of them are more popular than Read the rest of this entry »

Technology vs. Backyards: Where Have All the Children Gone?

Thirty years ago, on any given summer evening, parents would have to force their dusty play worn children to call it a day and come in for a bath and bed. Once bathed, they would climb between the sheets of their bed, insisting they were not tired, then fall into a deep and dreamless sleep, only to wake early the next morning, and slam through the backdoor for another hard day of play.

Today, children’s habits have become much more Read the rest of this entry »

Animal Rescue Organizations Attract Hollywood’s Hearts

Ever since actor Richard Basehart and his wife founded Actors & Others for Animals in the 1970s, there have been a growing number of animal rescue organizations that are attracting Hollywood hearts. The business of entertainment can at times be so competitive and discouraging that entertainers covet the love and affection that rescued dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and other domesticated pets can provide. People tend to listen when a celebrity embraces a charitable cause, which is Read the rest of this entry »

Save a Marriage: Putting God into the Hollywood Equation

As the growth of the Hollywood Movie and Television industry continually increased and expanded through the years, the decline of marriages has also steady grown in numbers. The question everyone wants to know is, Are these two statistics directly related?

The answer is yes. As husbands and wives are increasingly bombarded with images of the opposite sex, scantily dressed and in perfect physical condition, they slowly become dissatisfied with the person they have promised their commitment and devotion to. As this feeling grows, they compare their spouse to that character or actor on the screen. Add to this Read the rest of this entry »
